A Venous duplex is a painless non-invasive special technique that combines two kinds of ultrasounds to produce images of how the blood moves through the body. It may help diagnose many conditions, like blood clots or poorly functioning valves in your leg veins which can cause blood or other fluids to pool in your legs, known as venous insufficiency.

Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins. This technique uses radiofrequency energy (instead of laser energy) to heat up and damage the wall inside a vein. This usually closes off a varicose vein in the leg.

Ambulatory phlebectomy is a method of removing varicose veins on the surface of the legs. It is done in the office under local anesthesia. This procedure involves making tiny punctures or incisions through which the varicose veins are removed. The incisions are so small no stitches are required.

Sclerotherapy effectively treats varicose and spider veins. It is often considered the treatment of choice for small varicose veins. Sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the vein. In some instances, several sclerotherapy treatments may be needed.
